Surgical Scrubs

It’s mainly thanks to programmes such as BBC’s Brain Doctors that the public are able to glimpse inside the world of surgery, which for the most part, is a world closed to outsiders. Few people then realise that for every surgeon there is a large surgical team supporting him or her.

This is true no matter what the speciality be it neurosurgery cardiothoracic, ENT, orthopaedic and trauma, paediatric, or urology or something else. The exact composition of the team will vary depending on a number of factors including the type of surgery. But it’s possible to identify some key team members.

A surgeon is of course the leader of any surgical team which may also include additional surgeons,  as well as an Anesthesiologist and/or a Anesthetist who are a doctor and nurse respectively trained in the use of anaesthetics. They play a key role in any operation. As well as keeping the patient relaxed and pain free during surgery they monitor the patient throughout. This will include oxygen exchange, circulatory functions, systemic circulation, and vital signs. It’s only through advances in anaesthesia that lengthy surgery is possible.  But there are other members of the surgical team too including the Scrub Assistant (or Nurse) and Circulating nurse.

It’s this team of people that are responsible for preoperative, perioperative and postoperative care of the patient. In all cases surgical scrubs are essential part of surgical work whether you’re a surgeon or not.

 At Alsicare we’ve developed a range of unisex surgical scrub tops and trousers designed specifically for this demanding environment. Both scrub tops and trousers are available in sizes X-Small to XX-Large.

Logos or names can be added to our scrub tops and available colours including Sailor Navy, Light Blue, Burgundy and Jade. Each scrub top has a V-neck set into front yoke and one breast pocket.  There are also 2 lower front hip pockets, shorts sleeves and side vents. The finished length is 77cm.  All are made from a hard wearing poly cotton blend that will withstand repeated deep/industrial cleaning.

Matching scrub trousers are available in the same fabric, colours and sizes with 2 leg lengths available, Regular and Tall. We apply the same attention to detail to the trousers which have a draw cord waistband made from bonidex elastic, 2 shaped front patch pockets and 2 thigh pockets.  Inside leg measurements are Regular 74cm or Tall 79cm, both hemmed. For your convenience scrubs tops and trousers can be ordered separately and there is no minimum order.
